PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION |
NCHRP Project 03-130 will result in new national roundabout planning and design guidance. It will be a new, original document and replace the 2010 NCHRP Report 672 Roundabout: An Informational Guide, 2nd Edition.
The document will align with AASHTO multimodal flexible design principles and integrate concepts associated with the 2018 AASHTO Green Book. The content will be consistent with objectives for designing in context as will be included in the impending Green Book, 8th Edition.
The Guide is anticipated to be a primary reference document in the United States for roundabout planning, design, and operations.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES |
Learning objective 1: Provide an overview of the contemporary approach to the new Guide.
Learning objective 2: Share the research and synthesis topics evaluated during the project and integrated in the Guide.
Learning Objective 3. Understand the Guide structure and chapters
ROUNDABOUT DISCUSSION |
The Guide is highly anticipated and will provide new guidance to support all aspects of roundabout planning, design, and operations.
