Rich is the Senior Urban Design Engineer for the Oregon Department of Transportation. Rich is a registered professional engineer and has worked 32 years for ODOT in various capacities including survey, construction inspection, pavement design and roadway design. In his Urban Design role, Rich works statewide as part of the Technical Services, Traffic/Roadway Section coordinating with the five ODOT Region Technical Centers on roundabouts and urban roadway design issues. He is a member of the TRB Roundabout and Alternative Intersections Committee and is also on the panel for NCHRP 03-130 that is updating the Roundabout Design Guide. In conjunction with a degree in Civil Engineering, Rich also holds a degree in Art Education. They aren’t as different as you might think.
