#TRBautomated

TRB is pleased to announce that we will host a poster session at the Automated Road Transportation Symposium (ARTS24) being held at Hilton San Diego Bayfront, July 29- August 1, 2024. The Symposium brings together leaders from academia, industry, and government to explore the future of automated mobility. Poster presentations are an important part of the program, and we encourage you to apply to present your work!

The poster session will take place during the evening reception on Tuesday, July 30, and provide attendees the opportunity to engage with authors on important topics.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Road Vehicle Automation Technology
  • Infrastructure Technology Supporting Road Vehicle Automation
  • Human Factors of Transportation Automation
  • Remote Human Support for Driverless Operations
  • Assessment of Transportation Planning Impacts of Automation
  • Assessment of Transportation Operations Impacts of Automation
  • Energy and Environmental Implications of Transportation Automation
  • Legal and Policy Issues Associated with Transportation Automation
  • User Responses to Transportation Automation Systems
  • Safety of Automated Driving
  • Economically Viable Use Cases for Road Vehicle Automation
  • Real-World Lessons Learned from Driverless Operations

Each poster proposal should include an extended abstract (500 to 1000 words) describing the poster’s contents and should present a discrete and completed research or implementation project, akin to what would be published in an academic journal article or presented in a TRB Annual Meeting poster session. Each abstract should include a discussion of the following:

  • The relevance of the content to automated road transportation
  • The purpose of the work being reported
  • The methodology used
  • Key findings from the work and their significance for the implementation of automated road transportation systems.

Please note, commercial promotions will not be accepted.

Poster proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevance of contents to road vehicle automation (most important)
  • Significance of topic (i.e., timeliness and likely level of interest to audience)
  • Technical correctness and depth of understanding
  • Clarity of description
  • Avoidance of commercialism

Poster Proposal Deadlines:

  • Poster proposal extended abstract submission window through March 1, 2024.
  • Each proposal will be evaluated through a competitive peer review process. Authors will be notified of poster acceptance for presentation approximately by April 14, 2024.

To submit an extended abstract, click the "Submit Your Extended Abstract" button at the top of this page.
