Tours
In addition to the conference program the schedule includes two optional tours ($65 per person for each tour). These are special, limited capacity opportunities to see nearby managed lanes projects:
- Monday afternoon, 8/12 to 405 Express Lanes in Orange County, CA
- Wednesday morning, 8/14 to SR 91 & 15 Express Lanes in Riverside County, CA
Tour registration is only available to conference registrants. Plan to register for the tours as soon as registration opens.
405 Improvement Project
Date/Time: 8/12/24 from 3 PM-7 PM
The I-405 Improvement Project improved 16 miles of the San Diego Freeway between State Route 73 and Interstate 605, including the addition of a general-purpose lane in both directions and implementation of the 405 Express Lanes. The project, under construction since early 2018, opened to traffic in December 2023. During the tour, you will get to experience the operations of newly opened 405 Express Lanes.

91 and 15 Express Lanes
Date/Time: 8/14/24 from 8 AM-12 PM
The 91 Express Lanes is a four-lane, 18-mile toll road built in the median of State Route 91 between the SR-55/SR-91 interchange and the SR-91/Interstate 15 interchange. The 91 Express Lanes was the first fully automated toll collection system in the country to feature value pricing. The 91 Epress Lanes is a model for a successful partnership in that OCTA and RCTC jointly operate the express lanes. During the tour, you will get to visit 91 and 15 Express Lanes Traffic Operations Centers and experience the operations of both Express Lanes.
