SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Zach Simons has worked with Kimley-Horn and Associates since 2021 as an aviation planner specializing in state aviation system planning, economic research projects, airport master planning, and airport development grant management consulting. He has also served as an in-house consultant with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Aviation Office providing aviation program management services related to strategic planning, outreach and communications, and advanced air mobility (AAM).
Zach is a standing member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) AV020 Committee on Aviation System planning and served as the co-chair of the program committee for the 11th National Aviation System Planning Symposium. He is also a member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and the Airport Consultants Council (ACC). In 2022, Zach received the Kimley-Horn Florida region award for Outstanding Client Service and is privileged to serve wonderful clients and partners throughout Florida and across the country.
Additionally, Zach earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Aviation Management from the University of North Dakota John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences. He is a commercially licensed pilot with instrument and multi-engine ratings and has also earned Master of Arts degrees in both Counseling and Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary. Zach and his wife live in Tallahassee, FL with their five children.
