Preparing for Electric and Alternative Fuel Aircraft
Date and Time: Tuesday, May 16: 2:15 PM - 3:30 PM
Location: Auditorium
David Ison
Washington State Department of Transportation Aviation Division
PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
WSDOT Aviation Division released its Electric Aircraft Feasibility Study in 2020 followed by its Electric Airport Feasibility Study in 2022. The findings of these studies coupled with recent discussions with forecasting analysts and industry stakeholders paints an optimistic albeit cautious picture of the near to mid-term electric aviation landscape. Learn why it has been stated that 2023-2024 has been slated as the "Planning Years," 2024-2025 as "The 3C's" and 2025 and beyond will be the Implementation Era. Most importantly, what can and should planning stakeholders do today in order to prepare for tomorrow?
