SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
David Ballard has been involved with the Transportation Research Board for over 25 years as a committee friend, committee member, committee chair (AV040), Aviation Group chair, and ACRP researcher and panelist. He is currently chair of the Transportation History subcommittee (AME00(1)) and secretary of the New Users of Shared Airspace (AV095) standing committee. He is retired from a multi-decade career as an aviation economist and consultant, working with clients from NASA, TSA, and the FAA, among others. In other areas of service, David represents Ward 3 on the Jenkintown Borough Council as an elected official, chairing the council Administration and Finance Committee. He is head of the board of Pennypack Farm and Education Center, a Community Supported Agriculture organization, in Horsham, PA, serves on the board of Metropolitan Dance Company, a pre-professional dance company, and is a trustee of the Jenkintown Public Library. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
