SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Nixon “Nick” Harwell, ICMA FCCM currently serves as the Airport Planning Manager for the Florida Department of Transportation’s Aviation Office. Nick performs both Contract Management and Project Management administration oversight for multiple contracts and has led various statewide projects as project lead of which are but not limited to: Master Plan Guidebook, Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), COVID-19 Impacts on Florida Airports and the Airline Industry, Florida Aviation Economic Impact Study, Florida Aviation Professionals Academy for Elected Officials, as well as the Florida Aviation Professionals Academy where Nick is a subject matter expert and serves on the instructional team. Nick is also a short-course graduate from the University of South Florida (USF) with a focus in Economic Development to include certification as Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) and possesses over fifteen (15) years of combined management experience in both the public and private sector. Nick maintains membership with the International City Managers Association (ICMA) where he remains in good standing for over ten (10) years.
