PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
"When Undertaking Very Hard Routes, Keep Direction By Good Methods." Investigating the history of the early U.S. airmail service, Ivy Adams flew to three existing sites of Transcontinental Airway System navigation markers in Shelbyville, Indiana; Newark-Heath, Ohio; and Anthony, Kansas. To preserve the foundations of the national air system, she has applied for the sites visited to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Informing community organizations about the significance of the Pioneer Era, Adams conducted presentations and maintained an academic social media account throughout the duration of her undergraduate Honors thesis.
SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Ivy Adams completed her undergraduate Honors Thesis on the history of United States airmail during her baccalaureate at Middle Tennessee State University. Majoring in Aerospace with a concentration in Aviation Management, Ivy has recently graduated in Fall 2022 as Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 Inclusive Grade Point Average. During her Bachelor's program, she earned minors in University Honors, Business Administration, Asian Studies, and Chinese. Ivy Adams is currently a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Aeronautical Science.
