SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Dr. I. Richmond Nettey is a tenured Professor of Aeronautics in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University. As chairman of the TRB's Standing Technical Committee on Airport Terminals and Ground Access (AV050), he led the effort to develop AV050's Scope as well as the Triennial Strategic Plan for 2022-2025 through the collaborative participation of the members and friends of AV050 under the auspices of the two Working Groups on Ground Access (GAWG) co-chaired by Peter Mandle and Mike Coleman, and Terminals (TWG) co-chaired by Aarshabh Misra and Dr. Lloyd McCoomb.
Dr. Nettey serves as President of the Safety Division, Association for Technology Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) and as Chairman of the ATMAE Foundation Board. He served as President of the University Aviation Association (UAA) in 1997-1998 after serving as Treasurer in 1996-1997, and as a Trustee of Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). Dr. Nettey has held nine or more years of appointed memberships on the TRB Standing Technical Committees on Aviation System Planning (AV020) and Aircraft/Airport Compatibility (AV070). Dr. Nettey has served as an education consultant for the FAA, DHS-TSA, and university aviation programs, and as an airport management consultant for the Houston Airport System.
