SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
Ms. Komal Kumar is the Interim Assistant Director at John Wayne Airport (JWA) and has been with the Airport since 2016. She is currently working on developing and funding a robust Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) of 800M and embarking on an Advanced Facility Planning to ensure a positive outlook for the Airport in the next 20 years. Before becoming the Interim Assistant Director, Ms. Kumar was Deputy Airport Director of Finance Administration. She oversaw all financial functions, including developing a 5-Year Strategic Financial Plan as well as CIP for JWA. While in the Finance Director’s position, Ms. Kumar managed to defease 60.8M outstanding Airport Revenue Bonds and increased cash on hand to almost 1000 days. She has held numerous titles throughout the past 15 years with the County of Orange, including Budget Manager, Fiscal Operations Manager, and Finance Manager. Ms. Kumar graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of California, Riverside.
