Biography
John Harvey is a Distinguished Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis, and Director of the UC Pavement Research Center and the City and County Pavement Improvement Center. He is principal investigator for research, development, and implementation projects working to improve cost-efficiency, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and equitable access to good pavement considering planning, pavement materials, design, and asset management for California and federal agencies, and industry, and training for local governments in California. He is a professional civil engineer in California.

Mari Tye

Biography
Mari Tye is a researcher at NCAR focusing on changes in future extreme weather and climate. She also chairs the ASCE Committee on Adaptation to a Changing Climate, through whom she is coordinating efforts to update the ASCE 7 loading criteria to use future facing data. Mari's two main foci are understanding the likely societal consequences of climate intervention (e.g. through changes in drought and flood regimes), and translating global circulation model output into useful information for water resource managers. Through her background as a Professional Civil Engineer, Mari facilitates collaborations between groundbreaking atmospheric science research and decision-makers. Mari has Ph.D. in statistical climatology from Newcastle University, UK.

Biography
Mark Rupp serves as Adaptation Program Director at Georgetown Climate Center (GCC), leading a team in support of resilience, equity, and community-based solutions at the local, state, and federal levels. Matt is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center, teaching an advanced environmental law course on climate change. Mark came to GCC from the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) where he led State-Federal Policy and Affairs for the Ecosystems Program. Prior to EDF, Mark served in several positions in state and federal government: Deputy Associate Administrator for Intergovernmental Relations at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Director, Washington, DC; Office to former Governor Chris Gregoire (WA); Health and Human Services Policy Advisor to Governor Gregoire in Olympia, Washington; Legislative Counsel to U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (WA) in Washington, DC; and staff positions in the Washington State House of Representatives. Mark is an attorney with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Policy and Assessment.
