Speaker Biography
June Smith is a professional in the publishing, media, education and business arenas. June is an entrepreneur at heart and has worked with a multitude of brilliant professionals at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Simon and Schuster, the New York Department of Education, the Eagle Academy for Young Men among others. June’s work at the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) and the City of Paterson Housing Authority spring boarded PHASINC, (Paterson Housing Authority Success Incubator) a small business incubator designed to jumpstart workforce and economic development within the City of Paterson. The incubator’s creation with the aid of Passaic County Community College, the Small Business Development Center, Greater Newark Enterprise Corporation and Columbia Bank yielded new excitement and rejuvenation around entrepreneurship and sustainability. An executive leader in the non-profit arena, June is a graduate of Rutgers University, she holds double B.A. degrees in Journalism and Mass Communications; a mini-MPA also from Rutgers, a financial counselor certification from NY Department of Consumer Affairs and a Business Incubation Management Certification from the International Business Innovation Association. June resides in the New York metro area.
