Biography
Lynn is a Manager with RMI’s Carbon-Free Transportation team, managing a broad portfolio of projects, including municipal and utility electrification strategy, fleet and truck electrification, charging optimization, charging needs assessments, and mobility as a service and behavior change. Lynn has advised cities, states, and utilities including Seattle City Light, Oregon Department of Transportation, and the City of Austin with both thought leadership as well as on-the-ground implementation of pilot projects. Lynn currently leads several data science projects that use vehicle telematics data to inform long-term planning for transportation decarbonization. Prior to joining RMI, Lynn was a AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy for 3 years. During his Fellowship, Lynn was a program manager with the Advanced Manufacturing Office, leading implementation of a multi-agency economic development funding opportunity, and then technology advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Lynn earned his PhD in Physics in 2010 from the University of Pennsylvania.
Co-presenter Biography
Emily joined the carbon-free mobility team at RMI in 2021 to contribute to accelerating transportation electrification through data-driven research and analysis. She’s particularly interested in expanding public charging infrastructure and encouraging electric vehicle adoption in both passenger and heavy-duty vehicle classes. Prior to joining RMI, Emily spent several years at the Electric Power Research Institute working on electric transportation on behalf of electric utilities around the US.
