Biography
As Director of the Freight Transportation Consulting team at S&P Global, Ms. Aleksandra Maguire is responsible for supervising the team’s work on consulting projects and in the production of the team’s commercial freight transportation data and forecast products. She has extensive experience as a project manager for studies covering a variety of freight transportation issues, market and supply chain analyses, and economic and transportation modeling. She was a project manager for the FAF5 Forecasts for FHWA. Since 2018, she has been responsible for the management of the team that produces the company’s county-level, multimodal commodity-flow data, and forecasts sold as the TRANSEARCH® product. Her experience includes leading trade and market assessments for transportation carriers and public sector agencies, advising on business opportunities, growth strategies, multi-modal, intermodal, and distribution improvements, and capital investments.

She is active in the Transportation Research Board Freight Systems and Marine Group committees and represents the company in work for the Council on Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP.) She is both a published author on supply chain economics, including in CSCMP’s Supply Chain Quarterly and a public speaker on freight logistics and supply chain management at conferences and freight industry webinars. Her graduate work in transportation at the University of Memphis included research on gate appointment strategies at the intermodal rail yard.

Ms. Maguire holds an MSc in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from the University of Memphis, and a BSc in Transportation Engineering from the University of Belgrade in Serbia.
