Presentation Description
Nick Fleming of BSI will talk about BSI's work in developing the UK CAM Standards programme AND standards roadmap working in conjunction with the UK Government's Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) and Innovate UK.
BSI has worked closely with UK trialling organizations, industry and academic in developing a programme of standards to promote good safety practices across trials and testing on UK roads and during interaction with the public.
BSI's standards roadmap was developed with industry to help identify the focus areas for standards, based on the global standards landscape view, as industry looks to transition from trials to full commercial deployment on and off road.
During this programme BSI has identified opportunities to work on areas such as developing a taxonomy for defining the ODD (Operational Design Domain) of Automated Driving Systems -BSI PAS 1883:2020 - which has since formed the basis of ISO standards and informed work in wider transport domains.
Speaker Biography
Nick Fleming is Associate Director of Transport and Mobility Sector at BSI. Nick has over 15-years experience of working with industry and policy makers in supporting development of emerging technologies in automotive and transport. Nick has led on multiple standardization projects and innovation programmes in areas such as CAM, Electric Vehicles and Aviation to promote safe adoption of new technology.
