Speaker Biography
Jason Liu is a seasoned professional with a proven track record of success in the field of technology R&D. With a career spanning from scientist to engineer, principal analyst, and start-up CTO, he brings a wealth of expertise and accomplishments in V2X/CDA, wireless communication, RFID, healthcare, and transportation industries.
At JMC Rota, Jason co-leads technical and standards development at the SAE CDA (Cooperative Driving Automation) committee, and serves as a subject matter expert at the SAE CTI (Connected Transportation Interoperability) committee for positioning and cooperative perception services.
Through his career, Jason won a Top-Ten product innovation award at the 2013 RFID/IoT Industry Exhibition in the USA, and a bronze medal at the 2021 5G Application National Contest in China, ranking among the top 1% from 12,281 submitted projects. He was also one of the original contributors to the development of IEEE 1609 and IEEE 802.11p standards.
Jason holds a Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, and a Master of Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China. He has been granted 40 patents, with an additional 24 pending.
