Founder and CTO, Streetscope, Inc.
Presentation Description
Evaluating the safety of ADAS/ADS requires effective surrogate measures of hazard and risk. Characteristics of effective measures include: objectivity, repeatability, continuity, monotonicity, computability, and scalability, in addition to begin a leading (not trailing) measure. Existing surrogate measures lack one or more of these essential characteristics. A new measure, SHM (Streetscope Hazard Measure), has recently been developed that meets all of the requirements and characteristics of an effective surrogate measure. A brief comparison of the new measure with existing measures will be presented.
