Speaker Biography
Karlyn Stanley is a lawyer at RAND Corporation and an adjunct professor in the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She is the lead author of Autonomous Vehicles and the Future of Auto Insurance, a RAND report published in December 2020. She has conducted research to assess policy risks and gaps concerning autonomous vehicle technologies and is a co-author of the 2016 RAND report, Autonomous Vehicle Technology: A Guide for Policymakers. She is the principal author of Data Privacy Considerations for Automated and Connected Vehicles, a study published by the Texas Transportation Institute Policy Research Center in 2015. She is currently co-leading a RAND study of autonomous vehicle legal regimes in six countries and four U.S. states.
