Speaker Biography
Mr. Avery is a technical specialist for emerging transportation technologies based in Austin, Texas and brings 25 years of experience in the research, development, and deployment of automated, connected, and cooperative vehicle systems. He has become a known and respected leader in the field of emerging mobility, presenting on a variety of topics both in the US and internationally, and his work has resulted in seven awarded patents. Recently, his work has also focused on the application of distributed ledger technology (DLT), such as Blockchain, to connected and automated vehicles systems, as well as road use charging (RUC) and tolling. He currently advises clients in the areas of automated vehicle technologies and Blockchain applications in transportation, and leads the development of digital tools for assessing the impact of these technologies on existing transportation systems.
