Speaker Biography
Mike Tien is senior policy counsel at Aurora, the company delivering the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly. In his role, Mike advises on federal and state policy to support the safe development and rapid deployment of autonomous vehicles across the United States and provides counsel to the company’s product and engineering teams throughout all stages of the development of Aurora's self-driving system, the Aurora Driver.
Prior to Aurora, Mike served as senior counsel for the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he advised Committee leadership on a wide-ranging set of topics regarding civil aviation, including the integration of drones and advanced air mobility into U.S. airspace. Before Capitol Hill, Mike worked as an attorney-advisor at the U.S. Department of Transportation.
A Michigan native, Mike is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Mike currently resides in San Francisco.
