DESCRIPTION
Committee Scope: The committee considers new, emerging and innovative concepts, systems and technologies that facilitate mobility. Emerging and innovative forms of mobility include various types of services such as traditional public and private transport, transportation network companies (TNCs) (a.k.a ridehailing), shared modes (e.g., carsharing, bike sharing and ride sharing [carpooling/vanpooling]), mobility on demand, and Mobility as a Service (MaaS). Further, the concepts and technologies covered include those that facilitate the operation of and customer access to these services, including on-board and customer hardware and software, information systems, applications (e.g., smartphone ormobile applications that provide real-time information or allow customers to ridehail), and communication technologies. Finally, the committee covers the impact of these services and technologies on communities and travelers.
