Date and Time: Tuesday, June 25, 2024: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM Location: Constitution B
Moderator(s):
Liz Williams, Massachusetts Department of Transportation
Session Description and Agenda
Decisions made by stakeholders outside of the transportation industry, namely developers and site location analysts, have profound and far-reaching impacts on transportation networks and the communities around them. This panel includes presentations of projects that have leveraged opportunities to manage demand while encouraging alternatives to single occupancy vehicles and considered the impacts of various design alternatives on public health, access to jobs, and housing. Attendees will hear examples from Boston, and the Greater Boston region, and Overland Park, KS, and from panelists representing the transportation engineering and private development industries. All panelists will reflect on key recommendations and lessons learned and highlight how implementation plans are driving actionable next steps.
