Bio: Alasdair Cain is the Director of Research, Development and Technology Coordination at the United States Department of Transportation, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (OST-R). He leads OST-R’s role in the coordination of the Department’s $1 Billion research portfolio, working with DOT’s modal administrations and Secretarial Offices. Mr Cain also leads cross-modal research initiatives on high priority topics such as infrastructure resilience and congestion management. Mr Cain’s background is in academia, having worked as a researcher for universities in the U.S and in his native United Kingdom.
