Bio: Rob Kafalenos is an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Office Natural Environment at FHWA. He works on research and policy development focused on resilience to extreme weather events, especially as it relates to asset management and project-level engineering. Rob’s work includes co-managing FHWA’s Asset Management and Resilience Pilot Program and development of a National Highway Institute course focused on addressing resilience in project development. He holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University, and a Bachelor’s in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Kansas.
