Bio: Lijun is currently working at Engineering Geology Division of Maryland State Highway Administration. Her primary responsibilities include the investigations and remedy recommendations for state road related geohazards such as slope instability/slides and sinkholes within the state road right of way and rock related issues encountered during the road construction, assisting the highway maintenance team on road construction related vibration inspection and monitoring, and assisting on groundwater quality investigation for road salt related contamination. She earned her BS in engineering geology, Master and Doctor of Engineering degrees in geotechnical engineering and hydrogeology/aquifer mechanics respectively. She is a registered PE in Maryland since 2012, has over 20 years of experience in geotechnical engineering including site exploration, ground improvement, foundation and retaining structure analyses and design, slope stability analyses and recommendation for remediation.
