Rob Kafalenos is an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Office Natural Environment at FHWA. He works on research and policy development focused on resilience to extreme weather events, especially as it relates to asset management and project-level engineering. Rob’s work includes co-managing FHWA’s Asset Management and Resilience Pilot Program and development of a National Highway Institute course focused on addressing resilience in project development. He holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University, and a Bachelor’s in Chinese Language and Literature from the University of Kansas.

Bio: Mr. Beucler is a registered professional engineer in Virginia, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a member of TRB Committee AFB60 Hydrology and Hydraulics and a friend of the AASHTO Technical Committee on Hydrology and Hydraulics. He also represents FHWA on the Subcommittee of Hydrology under the Advisory Committee of Water Information, Mr. Beucler also has over 30 years of experience as a highway and hydraulics engineer.
