Highlighting the importance of empirical data, I'll share findings from these experiments, with a particular focus on how emerging vehicle technologies impact traffic flow stability and capacity. This discussion aims to underscore the value of validating advanced models with real-world data, providing deeper insights into addressing challenges posed by connected and automated vehicle technologies.
Speaker Biography
Dr. Saeid Soleimaniamiri is an experienced Transportation Engineer with over 6 years of extensive experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. With expertise in connected and automated vehicle technologies, modeling, data analytics, and simulations, Dr. Soleimaniamiri has made significant contributions to the field. His research achievements are reflected in numerous publications in esteemed journals and conference proceedings. He has conducted several research projects at the Federal Highway Administration Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory (STOL), Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC). Additionally, he has practical experience leading technical aspects of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) CARMA projects focused on connected automated vehicles and cooperative driving automation (CDA). Dr. Soleimaniamiri's work aims to enhance transportation system efficiency, safety, and reduce traffic congestion.
