Presentation Description
This 'flash talk' will provide a brief overview and highlights of advances in testing methodologies for validating advanced modeling of connected and automated vehicles with experimentation in controlled laboratory environments.
Speaker Biography
Kevin M. Stutenberg is the Group Manager of the Advanced Mobility Technology group in the Transportation and Power Systems Division at Argonne National Laboratory. His team, consisting of 15 engineers and technicians, spearheads experimental efforts to advance mobility at both the vehicle system and component levels. Their focus lies in understanding the energy usage of conventional and electrified vehicles, incorporating varying levels of automation and connectivity.
Kevin holds an M.S. in Data Science from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since 2011, he has been a dedicated contributor to Argonne, where his current research centers around advanced mobility experimentation using Anything-in-the-Loop (XIL) laboratory testing. This approach provides data-driven insights aimed at enhancing vehicle efficiency for connected and/or automated vehicles.
Notably, Kevin has authored over 30 peer-reviewed technical papers and actively promotes public access to vehicle test data through Argonne’s Downloadable Driving Database website. Additionally, he serves as the Vice Chair of the IEEE Vehicle Technology Society (VTS) in Chicago and maintains longstanding membership in the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)
