Presentation Description
For realization of Japanese automated driving safety evaluation framework, it is essential to develop a safety evaluation platform consists of scenario database and virtual testing environment.
We are in charge of development of SAKURA scenario database mainly that provides both reasonably foreseeable and preventable test scenarios for AD system developers. The implementation of scenario database will be completed until end of FY2025.
Because Japanese government is trying to deploy automated driving mobility service in more than 100 locations until 2027, SAKURA scenario database ought to provide significant concrete scenarios in urban domain for accelerating social issue resolution such as serious driver shortage of public transportation.
These concrete scenarios and logical scenarios are preparing in accordance with functional scenarios (58 patterns related to vehicle and 8 patterns related to pedestrian) based on appropriate real traffic data analysis.
This presentation reports about latest Japanese safety assurance activity and SAKURA project update.
