Speaker Biography

Dr. Henriette Cornet is a strategic advisor and consultant in Sustainable Urban Mobility and a Professor at the University of San Francisco, California, where she co-leads the Autonomous Vehicles and the City Initiative. She is an engineer in materials and environmental sciences and holds a PhD from the Technical University of Munich (2012) on sustainable evaluation of innovations for public transportation. After five years working in the automotive industry in Germany, she specialized in the field of autonomous vehicles, focusing on the technology, business models, and the societal benefits they offer in terms of accessibility and inclusivity. For three years, she was Principal Investigator and led a research team in Singapore at the TUMCREATE institute on the design of autonomous vehicles. Upon returning to Europe, Henriette coordinated one of the largest projects funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program, deploying 70 autonomous vehicles on public roads in 15 European cities. She co-led a cluster on large-scale demonstration within the EU association Connected and Cooperative Automated Mobility. Henriette is an active member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) committees, including the Vehicle-Highway Automation committee (ACP30), and serves on the editorial board of the Springer book series Lecture Notes in Mobility. She continues to advise European projects and initiatives. Henriette is the author of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed international conference proceedings, scientific journals, and book contributions. She has been invited to speak, participate as a panelist, and give interviews at over 90 international conferences, events, and podcasts.
