Hilary is Senior Vice President of Policy at the Alliance for Automotive Innovation. In this position, Hilary oversees policy development at the association and manages the policy team to advance the association’s policy priorities and objectives. Prior to January of 2024, Hilary served as Vice President of Technology, Innovation, and Mobility Policy and managed the association’s policy development and strategy on technology and future mobility issues, including those relating to autonomous vehiles.
Hilary is a recognized thought leader and frequent public speaker on policy issues impacting automotive technology and the future of mobility. In 2020, Hilary was recognized as a Rising Star in the automotive industry by Automotive News for her work at the forefront of emerging technology policy.
Prior to joining the Alliance for Automotive Innovation in April of 2020, Hilary spent nearly 8 years as Director of Technology and Innovation Policy at Toyota where she led policy development and advocacy on technology policy matters. She formerly worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving as Staff Director of the Technology and Innovation Subcommittee and Counsel on the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology and as Legislative Director and Ways and Means Counsel for individual Members of Congress.
She holds a J.D. and a M.A. in Public Affairs from the University of Texas, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington.
