Speaker Biography
Tim currently serves as director of public works for the City of Minneapolis where he leads a team of over 1,300 employees responsible for high-quality delivery of drinking water, sewer, solid waste and recycling, and all forms for transportation services, which includes everything from electrifying the city fleet and shared mobility, to plowing streets and building bridges.
Before his current appointment, Tim served as Assistant Commissioner for Sustainability, Planning, and Program Management for the Minnesota Department of Transportation and directed environmental and climate programs at the Washington State DOT.
Tim has had several leadership roles with AASHTO, TRB, and PIARC, and serves on the board of directors for national environmental and transportation nonprofits. He has an MPH in environmental health and MS in urban planning from the University of Iowa.
