Session Description
This session will highlight how data, especially from public sources, can provide quantitative insights into the distribution of policy effects. Presentations will cover technical methodologies and metrics for communicating with stakeholders, featuring examples from the Eastern Transportation Coalition’s (TETC) work on transportation revenue policy. Participants will learn how state DOTs and agencies can leverage data to assess the impacts of their decisions on different groups. Topics will include challenges in using survey data for equity assessments, advancements in travel demand models, and ensuring that data reflects the needs of vulnerable travelers. The session aims to improve understanding and implementation of equitable transportation policies.
