Speaker Biography
Dr. Meghna Chakraborty is an Engineering Research Associate at the Highway Safety Research Center at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her primary research interests lie in the realm of traffic safety and operations, broadly including data-driven analysis and predictive modeling pertaining to roadway design, human factors, road user behavior, intelligent transportation systems, and connected and autonomous vehicles. Over the course of her graduate studies and the employment with HSRC, Dr. Chakraborty has been involved in several transportation safety- and operations-related research projects funded by National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), among others. She did her Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil Engineering (Transportation) at Michigan State University. Dr. Chakraborty has also provided referee service for several journals and conferences, and been affiliated with multiple technical committees.
