Speaker Biography
I am a current Master of Urban and Regional Planning student at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I am doing my thesis on the social and economic impact of public transportation on women. I am on the Urban Green Equity and Resilience Project research team, studying equity and green infrastructure in Richmond, VA. I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2017 with a degree in Global Development Studies: Environments and Sustainability, with a minor in Urban and Environmental Planning.
I work full-time at the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation as a Statewide Transit Program Manager. I provide technical assistance, oversight, and grant management for rural and urban transit agencies across the state, as well as manage the state Rural Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP). I am passionate about gender equality and public transportation. I am a car-free resident of Richmond, VA, and take full advantage of their amazing fare-free transit system.
