Presentation Description
Kicking off in late 2023, the national-scale TCRP study, Addressing Travel Needs of Women on Public Transit, has two main goals: (1) establish a national state of the practice of gender-responsive planning at transit agencies, and (2) develop practical resources to assist transit agencies in undertaking gender-responsive planning practices. The project team will share results of the first phase of the study, including a national scale transit agency survey and interviews with agency staff, CBO representatives, and a national transit advocacy organization. Key takeaways are helping to inform the development of the toolkits to be developed in the second phase of the study. The last 15 minutes of this session will be interactive before going into general Q&A -- the research team looks forward to hearing input from attendees on the types of tools that should be included in the upcoming toolkit development.
