Additive Construction with Custom Concrete Mixes for Expeditionary Applications
Description
Within this research we seek to make advancements in Additive Construction (AC) using indigenous materials. Properties of indigenous materials were simulated with custom concrete mixes consisting of Portland Limestone Cement, masonry sand, silt, and clay. Numerous mixture designs were systematically evaluated to determine their extrudability and buildability. Various admixtures were also explored to improve extrudability and buildability. The influence of fiber additions to concrete mixes was also investigated.
