Speaker Biography
Ed Sniffen currently serves as the director of the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) and is responsible for the state’s transportation connections through the airport, commercial harbor, and highway systems. As chief executive of HDOT, he is focused on fulfilling the state’s transportation needs, which are integral to advancing the administration goals of housing, economic development, energy, food security, education, climate resiliency and emergency preparedness. Across all modes of transportation, Ed’s priorities are safety, preservation and improvement of transportation facilities, ensuring efficiency and transparency of HDOT operations, and creating and maintaining partnerships that will help improve the quality of life and the transportation experience for Hawaii residents and visitors.
