Presentation Description
In this session, we will explore how vision-based toll systems, utilizing license plate recognition as the primary method for toll collection, can revolutionize managed lanes. By moving away from traditional transponder-based systems, regional toll authorities and operators can significantly enhance the customer experience, improve interoperability and lower infrastructure costs. This presentation will highlight the advantages of using license plates as a universal "tag," which simplifies user adoption, accelerates deployment, and facilitates greater interoperability across regions. Additionally, we will discuss the potential for nationwide interoperability and the broader implications for the future of tolling in managed lanes.
