Lead Presenter Biography
Wei Zhang has been with FHWA for 21 years. He currently serves as the Intersection Safety R&D Program Manager, specializing in innovative intersection and interchange designs, large-scale data analysis and visualization, and the application of workflow automation and AI technologies. Wei has managed field evaluations of over 70 innovative intersection and interchange projects across the country. Many of these projects were the first of their kind in their respective states and successfully addressed serious safety and congestion challenges. Wei is results-driven and passionate about sharing knowledge and experience with both the research and practitioner communities. He is the primary author of more than 60 journal and conference papers.
