Lead Presenter Biography
Alexa is HDR’s Digital Delivery Advisory Services Director, and a registered professional engineer in Arizona and Missouri. She started her career at the Missouri Department of Transportation where she pioneered the implementation of 3D models for construction, electronic plans and 3D survey technologies. After 16 years of public service, Alexa joined the private sector where she has been engaged in several national studies and strategic activities to help advance digital project delivery methods, industry standards and technology adoption, and change management strategies, including her work with the Transportation Research Board, State DOTs and the AASHTO Joint Technical Committee on Electronic Standards. As a digital project delivery expert, Alexa has helped multiple transportation agencies navigate the ever-changing environment of digital project delivery, including AZ,CA,NE,PA, as well as LA Metropolitan Authority transit agency. Her work focuses on the change management strategies to transition an organization into the digital age by establishing modeling standards and best practices, knowledge transfer strategies and training programs, and contract language to align with model-based deliverables and digital project delivery methods. Alexa is passionate about contributing to the body of knowledge through research projects, volunteer work, and mentoring the younger generation. She has served as principal investigator on NCHRP projects, and Transportation Pooled Funds. Alexa volunteers her time to participate in national and international industry organizations and committees, including buildingSMART International, AASHTO Technical Committees, and TRB. In 2023, Alexa was elected to the buildingSMART International Infrastructure Domain Steering Committee where she is helping advance open data standards for interoperability at the international level, and currently serves as an industry member to the AASHTO Joint Technical Committee on Electronic Engineering Standards.
