Lead Presenter Biography
Michelle Stevens is a principal and professional engineer at Felsburg Holt & Ullevig, specializing in transportation planning and design with a focus in modern roundabout design and implementation in urban and rural environments. Over her 36-year career, she has conducted numerous transportation projects ranging from intersection improvements and modern roundabout projects of all sizes to complex multidiscipline highway widening and interchange projects throughout Florida and across the west and mid-west. Her roundabout portfolio includes an award-winning project for multi-lane roundabouts in Edwards, Colorado that improves operations and safety for residents and visitors alike at the I-70 interchange complex for this mountain community. Michelle presented at the 4th International Roundabout Conference in Seattle, Washington for Blending a Roundabout into an Art District project in 2014. She is currently working on an east-west bus rapid transit (BRT) project in Fort Collins, Colorado that involves multimodal improvements including floating bus stops with technologically advanced shelters, raised bike lanes and sidewalks along an urban corridor and through a university campus and connecting to a north-south BRT corridor. Michelle's presentation at this TRB Roundabout Conference involves a protected roundabout that anchors the western portion of the BRT corridor and is the first one in Fort Collins, Colorado. Michelle is a member of the American Public Works Association. She enjoys skiing in the mountains of Colorado, writing novels, and performing magic card tricks in her free time.
