Session Date and Time: Wednesday, June 11, 10:15 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Highland Ballroom
Lead Presenter: Stergios Mavromatis | Professor | National Technical University of Athens
Lead Presenter Biography
Associate Professor at the Department of Transportation Planning and Engineering of the School of Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens.
Involvement and active participation for over 34 years in the design of transportation projects, with special focus on road geometric design, covering among others road-vehicle system interaction and safety assessment through vehicle dynamics analysis of 2-axle and 3-axle vehicles, assessment of critical road geometric parameters (SSD, PSD, ISD) on 3-dimensional road surface, and intelligent transportation systems.
Provision of services from various duty positions, such as academic, technical consultant, auditor, road projects design coordinator, head of transportation design teams and final design stage engineer.
Participation in more than 30 research and engineering projects and designs of primary road network in both Greece and Europe and publication of more than 110 scientific papers, with wide international recognition.
He serves as a reviewer in many prominent journals and conferences (e.g. TRR, ASCE-Journal of Transportation Systems, AAP, ETRR, KSCE, CJCE, Transportation Letters, ATS, TRB, RSS) and is a member of international organizations and committees (e.g. TRB-AKD10, ECTRI, ERF- Road Markings and Signs, ERF- Road Restraint Systems).
