Lead Presenter Biography
Juana Jaramillo-Rios is a Ph.D. student in Supply Chain & Analytics at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), where her research focuses on multimodal freight transport, last-mile logistics, and supply chain resilience. Her work uses interdisciplinary methods to address infrastructure and policy challenges in underutilized freight systems, with a special focus on inland waterway transport (IWT).
At UMSL, Juana serves as a graduate research assistant, collaborating with Professor Trilce Encarnacion on IWT resilience initiatives. She is also an active member of the Supply Chain and Transportation Club. Her recent projects include examining crowdshipping adoption, the impact of e-commerce on urban mobility, and developing optimization models for post-disaster relief logistics.
Originally from Colombia, Juana earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Infrastructure and Transportation Systems from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Her early work addressed road safety, humanitarian logistics, and freight accessibility, contributing to national infrastructure planning and policy.
