Lead Presenter Biography
Rob McGurrin is the CTO and Co-Founder of BLUEiQ, an innovative women-owned business developing low power passive acoustic sensors for defense, marine security, and biodiversity. Rob is an experienced technical leader in all phases of applied R&D, from prototype to production and field-able products. Rob's experience in technical development and team leadership spans across domains, including low power wearable HR sensing at WHOOP, acoustic sniper localization at Raytheon BBN Technologies (Boomerang Warrior X and Boomerang Air), and low SWaP-C distributed underwater sensing system design for DARPA at STR. Rob brings deep expertise in system design, edge computing, signal processing, and software and hardware development, combining entrepreneurial agility with experience in defense innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and Engineering Management from the Tufts University.
