Presenter: Maayan Dembo
Bio: Ma'ayan Dembo is a graduate student in urban planning at UCLA Luskin. She studies Transportation Policy & Planning, and is particularly interested in improving transportation access for disadvantaged communities through improvements to transit infrastructure like signal timing, bus-only lanes, and other interventions. She currently works with the Vision Zero program at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation as the Creative Arts Fellow, bringing more art into the community engagement process. She is passionate about their Dignity-Infused Community Engagement (DICE) approach.
She previously worked as a transportation demand management program specialist at a transportation consulting firm, and wrote for Planetizen and The Planning Report. Ma'ayan holds a bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from Stanford University, and is originally from the Bay Area. She enjoys gardening, riding her bicycle, and raising her chickens.
