Bio: I, Naila Sharmeen started my PhD in Transportation Science at Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California, Irvine. I have advanced to candidacy on July, 2017; my ongoing research work is focused on Analysis of travel and activity space patterns.
I have developed keen interest in Transportation Planning since my undergraduate study in Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). Both my thesis conducted in undergraduate and post graduate levels in BUET were based on Transportation Planning. My BURP thesis title was “Developing a Generic methodology for TIA (Traffic Impact Assessment) of a mixed land use in Dhaka city: A case study of New Market City Complex”. My MURP thesis title was “Development of a GIS-based model for optimum traffic flow distribution: A case study on selected major routes of Dhaka city”.
During my four and half year teaching career back in my country Bangladesh (BUET) my career objective has been set to complete higher studies related with Urban and Regional Planning discipline specially Transportation Planning so that I can enrich myself as a teaching professional and do research work based on practical scenario.
