Dr. Shirin Noei is Research Assistant Professor at the Center for Energy Systems Research and advisor for the Women’s Transportation Seminar student chapter at Tennessee Technological University. Dr. Noei received her bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Tabriz in 2009, master's degrees in construction management and transportation engineering from Florida International University in 2016, and Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Florida in 2020. Dr. Noei has been a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Graduate Student Council representative for the Department of Civil and Coastal Engineering, fundraising chair for Intelligent Transportation Systems, and vice president for Women's Transportation Seminar at the University of Florida. Dr. Noei's research relies primarily on cyber-physical systems, networked control systems, and intelligent transportation systems.

Md. Ashraful Imran
Florida Atlantic University
Md Ashraful Imran is an M.S. student in Civil Engineering with a focus in Transportation Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Bangladesh’s a highly reputed and the second oldest engineering institution in the country. He was awarded the Prime Minister Gold Medal during his time as an undergraduate student. His research interests are primarily focus on traffic operations and management in smart cities, where connectivity, big data, and automation are emerging. He is currently working on assessing the impact of emerging commercially available automated vehicles on arterial intersection operations, both through field experiments and simulation, and would like to pursue his Ph.D. in the field of connected and automated vehicles.

Raphael Stern
University of Minnesota
Raphael Stern is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining UMN, Dr. Stern was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Informatics at the Technical University of Munich. Dr. Stern has also spent time as a visiting researcher at the Institute for Software Integrated Systems at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Stern received a bachelor of science degree (2013), master of science degree (2015), and Ph.D. (2018) all in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Stern was a visiting researcher at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics at UCLA, and a recipient of the Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Fellowship from the Federal Highway Administration. Dr. Stern's research interests are in the area of traffic control and estimation with autonomous vehicles in the flow.

Farzaneh Azadi

Mrs. Farzaneh Azadi has more than 15 years of experience as a civil and transportation engineer. She got her B.Sc. degree in civil engineering at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili in Iran in 2002 followed with an MS in Transportation Planning and Management from the University of Azad in Iran (2006). After moving to the US in 2016, Mrs. Azadi has worked with the University of Missouri-Columbia on a variety research projects such as work zone safety and real-time data collection, asset management, and evaluation of intersection safety based on the naturalistic driving study. Since 2019 she joined the University of Pittsburgh, where she works on her Ph.D. research focusing on the intelligent intersection management with connected and automated vehicles. Mrs. Azadi is recipient of several prestigious awards including WTS Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter (2018), ITS Heartland First place poster award (2019), and Lifesavers Traffic Safety Scholar (2018 and ,2019). She has published multiple papers in Transportation Research Board journals and conference proceedings. Her research interests include intelligent traffic control systems, transportation safety, transportation modeling, and others.

Kevin Johns

Kevin has been working in the transportation consulting industry for over 12 years blending computer science with planning and microsimulation, in both traffic and rail. Kevin is excited to be involved in these disciplines as the continue to converge.
Kevin received his bachelor degree from the University of Florida in Computer Engineering and followed it up with a masters degree in Civil Engineering, also from the University of Florida in 2007. Kevin began his career at HDR shortly afterwards employing both degrees to help expedite processes and expand services in microsimulation and data analytics.
