Session Description
Transportation agencies are exploring use of alternative methods to address various challenges in project delivery. CM/GC and CMAR allow the owner to obtain input into project design from the construction contractor and reduce construction-related risks, with price for construction work negotiated once design reaches an appropriate level. Indefinite quantity/indefinite delivery contracts also offer the benefit of early contractor involvement in projects, with contractors selected based on competitive unit prices forming the basis for determining the contract price once the owner determines the scope of specific projects. The panelists will discuss the processes used to award these types of contracts and lessons learned during administration.
